With very little face to face interaction, Phaust and Phingaz make their time count. Little more than a week was spent recording live tracks together in Salt Lake City, (where both are from) before Phingaz returned home to Minneapolis. It was these tracks that formed the foundation of what would become an experiment in duality. Many of the songs on Horseshoes & Handgrenades are comprised of both a raw, gritty, live recording as well as a crisp, full, studio quality sound. Lovers of blues-rock will find common ground with the indie hip-hop scene from whence Sinthesis was bred. Fusion never sounded so fresh and new, yet utterly natural.
